Position Summary
We are seeking a veterinary professional with experience working in different types of veterinary practices, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional client care to join our team as a part-time/casual Front Line Advocate. Reporting to the Head of People & Operations, this remote position serves as a seamless extension of veterinary practice teams. As a Front Line Advocate, you will be the first point of contact for pet parents, providing compassionate care on behalf of the veterinary practices we support across Canada, adapting to each clinic’s unique policies, procedures, and practice management systems.
Duties
Answers incoming calls and responds to client email inquiries in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner
Makes outbound calls for follow-ups, reminders, and client communications as needed
Assesses client needs, addresses questions and concerns, and triages inquiries to determine the most appropriate course of action
Schedules appointments and coordinates requests to support efficient service delivery
Converts client inquiries into booked appointments through effective communication, compassion, and client education
Documents client communications in patient files
Educates clients about clinic products, services, and recommendations when appropriate
Updates client and patient records accurately
Assists veterinary team members with clerical and administrative tasks as needed
Builds and maintains positive, professional relationships with veterinary practice teams and their clients
Responsibilities
Serves as the primary point of contact for veterinary practice clients, ensuring high-quality client care, strong relationship management, and confidentiality across all interactions
Coordinates the delivery of services to ensure a seamless experience for clients, patients, and veterinary team members
Adapts effectively to different clinic environments and workflows while upholding consistency in client experience and service quality
Remains knowledgeable about clinic procedures and refers to a manager, veterinarian, or technologist when appropriate
Represents VetGo in a professional and respectful manner, maintaining alignment with the standards and protocols of each veterinary practice
Qualifications
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a veterinary practice as a veterinary technologist, receptionist, team lead, or similar role
Ability to problem-solve, exercise sound judgment, demonstrate empathy, and remain calm in stressful or emotionally sensitive situations
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, common small animal health concerns, products, and services
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while contributing effectively to a team
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and accountability
Takes initiative to prioritize tasks
High proficiency with computer technology and ability to learn new veterinary practice management systems quickly
Availability to work various shifts, including weekdays during the day
Must reside in Canada
Must have access to a private workspace and reliable computer with high-speed internet connection
Proficiency in Google Workspace is considered an asset

Schedule
Part-time/casual
Must be available to work weekdays anytime between 10:00am and 6:00pm EDT
Initial availability of approximately 8-30 hours per week is anticipated
Following the initial project(s), hours may range from 0-28 hours per week based on client demand
Shifts are variable and can range from 2-8 hours
Additional shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, depending on client needs
As an independent contractor, hours are not guaranteed and are assigned based on client requirements
